The Simbas’ friendlies that were scheduled for October have been called off. The Kenya Rugby Union had three friendly matches planned for the Simbas against The British Army Training Unit- Kenya, The Loftus 200 and Namibia as part of the team’s preparation for the Repechage in France, this November.
Namibia are unable to travel to Kenya for the fixture due to some of the internal administrative challenges they are facing while BATUK and The Loftus 200 pulled out of the set matches due to financial constraints.
This leaves the Simbas with the friendly in Romania on the 3rd of November and training matches in France before the Repechage kicks off. However, they are currently planning to hold a local friendly with one of the top tier teams before departing for Romania.
They will have a non-residential camp this weekend and the Repechage squad will be named in the week to follow. Romania have already named a 33-man squad that is training in readiness for the match on the 3rd of November. Romania 33 man squad
