Stanbic Mwamba ladies have been on top form in the ongoing KRU Women’s Festival that enters the third leg on Sunday 8th March, coincidentally 2020 International Women’s Day.

These ladies hold a strong eight-point lead over their opponents having picked up the maximum points(22 points) in the first two legs bringing their tally to 44 points. Homeboyz ladies are second on the log with 36 points coming off a third-place finish collecting 17 points at the Kenyatta University grounds followed by a second-place finish at the second leg held at the KCB Sports Club(19 points). Homeboyz total coming to 36 points.

Northern Suburbs are third on the log with 33 points to their name coming from a second-place finish(19 points) in the first leg and a fourth-place finish(14 points) in the second leg. Top Fry Nakuru ladies finished fourth(14 points) and third(17 points) respectively in the two legs bringing their total points to 31 points.

Yamanashi Impala ladies have had a slow start to the season finishing fifth in both legs picking twelve points per leg, their total comes to 24 points.

These five teams make up the tier one pool due to their experience in the sport and strength and conditioning levels that give them an upper hand when it comes to the physicality of the sport compared to the teams in tier two.

In the first leg of the festival, all nine teams were in one tier and Shamas Rugby Foundation, Kisumu Dolphins, Twiga RPS, Bladbabes finished sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth respectively. In the second leg, the teams had been divided into the two tiers and these four make up the tier two Pool and were joined by the University of Eldoret ladies.

Shamas was victorious in the second leg of the festival as they went unbeaten picking up the 22 points that boosted their ten points collected during the first leg for a total of 32 points. On their first leg, the UoE ladies were a force to reckon with as they finished second in the pool getting 19 points to their name.

Kisumu Dolphins who were seventh in the first leg(8 points) finished fifth in the second leg(12 points) bringing their total to 20 points the same as Twiga RPS who were eighth in the first leg and fourth in the second bagging six and twelve points respectively.

Kenyatta University’s Blad babes picked up four points in the first leg as they finished ninth but a third-place finish(17 points) in the second leg elevated them to a total of 21 points overall.
