The visitors took the lead after dominating territory and possession, Jamie Parfitt barging over with Matt Roslee adding the extras for a 7-0 lead. The Dragons soon doubled their lead, wing Sam Purvis touching down with Roslee converting for a 14-0 score after 17 minutes of play.
The Simbas would finally find a rhythm, stand in captain George Nyamuba grounding the ball with Andola converting for a 14-7 score.
Alex Olaba, on debut for the Simbas, would turn on the afterburners, landing his maiden try on the left flank for a 14-12 score that remained this way heading into the interval.
Liam Staltem would retake the lead for the Dragons after the interval before Dennis Muhanji responded with a barging run and touch down, Andola converting to tie the score and result at full time.
The two sides will meet again at the same venue on Saturday 26 August.
