Shujaa secured their first Hong Kong 7s win after beating Canada 19-0 in the Challenge Trophy.
A pick and go from Captain Jeffrey Oluoch resulted in a 7-0 lead as he cut through the defense on the left side of the pitch to dot down Shujaa’s first try with Agero adding the extras. Nelson Oyoo and Daniel Sikuta were devastating in the breakdowns winning the turnovers for the Paul Murunga charges. A Shujaa turn over resulted in Andrew Amonde fending off his defender and racing for the center post try followed by Agero’s successful conversion. Shujaa scored the third and final try off yet another breakdown as Eden Agero went over the whitewash at the corner. The conversion sailed wide, Shujaa leading 19-0 at the breather.
The scoreboard remain the same through out the second half, both teams making several visits to the opponents half but none resulted in points for either side. Shujaa securing their semifinal position with the 19-0 win.
