United States-based Ruckus RFC lead by Mathew Wills donated rugby equipment to the Kenya Rugby Union earlier this month. The equipment that was received by KRU’s Development Officer Ronald Okoth was delivered by former Kenya International Anthony Ogot.
On Tuesday 11th May, the Development office delivered the equipment; balls, kit, cones, kids wear among other things to St. Mary’s Rehab and orphans school. This school was identified as one of Kenya Rugby’s Get Into Rugby centers and Okoth has made several visits there together with various GIR volunteers.
“We are very grateful to Ruckus RFC for this kind gesture that will definitely go a long way in spreading the growth of rugby in the country. We awarded the best individual students from the school and especially those who keep the rugby core values both on and off the pitch,” said Okoth.
In previous years, KRU through its development department has visited and introduced rugby to Schools and Shelters in a bid to spread the sport and more importantly the core values that guide how we live as one community.
