The Kenya Rugby Union has formed a referees panel that will be responsible for the registration, training and allocation of match officials for its sanctioned fixtures moving forward. This is in line with the World Rugby mandate allowing match organizers to appoint match officials.
This panel will also recommend match officials for international assignments and training programmes.
Further to this, clubs participating in KRU competitions are requested to nominate three individuals to train as volunteer referees awho can assist them during their training sessions and also run games on weekends. This is in line with the KRU’s development strategy to train and develop referees at club level, a strategy that will be executed by our Regional Development Officers.
