The draw however, secured Elgon Cup victory for Kenya after the home side edged the Rugby Crances 56-51 on aggregate following their 23-18 opening leg victory in Kampala on June 10.

“That result is testament that we need overall improvement,” Paarwater who saw his team salvage the draw with a last minute penalty try after training 26-33 rued.
“We have to improve on our defensive shape and scrums in the coming matches,” the tactician added after both sides shared the spoils from the stalemate.
Namibia, Senegal, Tunisia and Zimbabwe are the other teams vying for the Gold Cup (formerly Africa Cup) with the bottom team after the round robin competition being relegated to the 2018 Africa Silver Cup and eliminated from World Cup qualification.
Kenya will next host Tunisia and Senegal on July 8 and July 15 in Nairobi before travelling to Bulawayo to face the Zimbabwe Sables on July 22.
