Lionesses forward Bernadette Olesia is confident of a good showing at the Rugby Africa Women’s Cup Pool B competition taking place in Kampala, Uganda from 29th October to 2nd November 2022.
Speaking to KRU Media, Olesia said, “ Training has been quite intense, we’re taking each day at a time. My expectation is for us to top the pool though we know the Uganda Lady Cranes are also out to win, so we have to fight hard so that we can top the pool.”
The Lionesses, under the tutelage of former Kenya Sevens international Dennis Mwanja are pooled with hosts Uganda and Zambia.
They will begin their campaign with a clash against Zambia on Saturday 29 October before taking on Uganda on Wednesday 2 November 2022.
The winner of this competition will be promoted to Pool A for the 2023 tournament alongside South Africa and Namibia.
