For Mwamba, the stakes are nothing short of historic. Chasing a fourth consecutive title—a glorious four-peat—the reigning queens of Kenyan cup women are poised to etch their names further into the annals of the game. Their journey has been nothing short of imperious, having finished top of the table and steamrolled past NYS in the semifinals.This final, however, carries an extra layer of emotional gravity. It will be the inaugural match at Mwamba’s new home turf, and what better way to christen it than by lifting yet another trophy before a roaring home crowd? Having finished sixth in the regular season standings, they have defied expectations and clawed their way into the finals with a commanding 28-8 triumph over Kenya Harlequin in the semifinals and they now stand on the cusp of claiming their maiden Kenya Cup title.
This encounter will also rekindle memories of past finals, notably the 2022 and 2023 editions where Mwamba narrowly subdued Impala 15-11 and 21-10 respectively.
