Kenya Lionesses rallied by from a 15-0 deficit with less than three minutes left on the clock to earn their fourth pool win beating the Aruka Queen Kumagaya 17-15 at full time.
The ladies’s defense was broken thrice; twice in the first half giving Aruka the 10-00 half time lead. Lionesses opponents restarted the second half from where they left off going over for their third try but the conversion was unsuccessful.
In under three minutes in the second half, the Lionesses had to dig deep with each player pulling their weight in such a short period. This paid off as the sensational star that is Janet Okello crossed over the whitewash for her brace in this match while Celestine Masinde landed one try. Flyhalf on duty Grace Akulu added one conversion giving the Lionesses the win.
The ladies meet Ireland Development tomorrow in the third Cup quarterfinal at 2:00pm EAT.
