The 19-0 win over Tunisia confirmed the Kenya Lionesses slot in the Olympic Finals taking place in Tunisia on 13th October 2019.
The Lionesses landed the first try of the match in the dying minutes of the first half as they sent the ball wide to find Cynthia Camilla who dived over the whitewash, Grace Adhiambo added the extras for a 7-0 half time lead.
Second half, the Lionesses consistency in breaking the Tunisian defense bore fruits as legend Celestine Masinde swung and cut through two defenders eventually landing a center post try that extended the team’s lead to 14-0. A classy chip and chase by Janet Okello served another opportunity for the Lionesses to land their third try. Though a Tunisian defender caught the ball, Okello did not give her any time to use it as she quickly went in for a turn over that resulted in the Lionesses third and final try through Janet.
The Ladies will meet South Africa in the Qualifiers final at exactly 6:30pm EAT as they aim to defend their Africa7s title.
