Kenya and Hong Kong face off on Sunday 20 August 2017 in the first of two tests in Nairobi.They first clashed at the Emirates Nations Cup on 13 December 2011 at The Sevens Stadium in Dubai, Hong Kong running off with the 44-17 win that evening.

Kenya’s 17 points on the day came from Dennis Mwanja, Ronnie Mwenesi and Peter Mutai who landed a try each while David Ambunya kicking over a solitary conversion. Mutai and Mwanja have since retired from competitive rugby,Mwenesi missed out on a Simbas call up this season while Ambunya remains a part of the squad alongside Kenny Andola, Curtis Lilako, Moses Amusala and Isaac Adimo who were all part of the squad in Dubai.

The two sides met five years later in Nairobi, Kenya pulling off a 34-10 test win over the visitors at the RFUEA Ground on 27 August 2016. The visitors had earlier played a mid-week clash against Kenya “A” , falling to a 24-18 defeat.
