Kenya and Tunisia have met 8 times before, the Simbas dominating the head to head with 5 wins against the Tunisians’ 3.
Incidentally, it was the Tunisians who fired the first salvo, hammering Kenya 52-5 in a Rugby World Cup qualifier in Tunis on 20th September 1997, a result that remains the biggest win on fixtures between the two sides.
The Simbas have however had the upper hand in recent times, winning the last three encounters against the North Africans, a 16-7 win on Saturday 12 November 2011 to win the Africa Gold Cup ( then known as the Division 1A Championship), a 31-24 win in Tunis on 14 July 2012 and that famous 46-15 win at the RFUEA Ground on Saturday 28 June 2015.
The two sides will again renew their acquaintance in Rugby Africa Gold Cup action at Nairobi’s RFUEA Ground on Saturday 8 July 2017.
