Kenya Schools Dominate FEASSSA Rugby: All Saints, Vihiga, and St Joseph’s Shine Bright
The 2024 Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) games in Uganda turned into a showcase of Kenyan rugby supremacy, as schools from the nation emerged victorious. All Saints Embu, Vihiga High and St. Joseph’s (Girls 7s) stole the spotlight, claiming top honors in their respective categories.
All Saints Embu Lead the Charge in Rugby Fifteens
In the Rugby Fifteens category, All Saints Embu proved to be an unstoppable force. From the onset, they displayed an unmatched strategy, and endurance that saw them dominate their opponents. Their journey to the title was not without challenges, especially from Uganda’s St. Mary’s Kisubi. However, All Saints Embu’s resilience and tactical superiority made them the ultimate champions.
Kitondo School, Lenana and Butula, also added to Kenya strong presence. Despite spirited performances from Uganda’s Makerere, Kings College Budo, and Namilyango, it was clear that the Kenyan teams had an edge, culminating in All Saints Embu lifting the coveted Fifteens trophy.

Vihiga Takes the Crown in Boys’ Rugby Sevens
In the boys’ Rugby Sevens, Vihiga High School carried the Kenyan flag high, clinching the title with a series of outstanding performances. Vihiga’s road to victory included decisive wins over tough opponents like Bwake (Ke) and Uganda’s Jinja SS, both of whom put up strong fights. Despite challenges from Uganda’s London College and Rwanda’s Gitisi, the Kenyan teams demonstrated superior skill and teamwork, with Vihiga’s victory sealing their status as East Africa’s Sevens kings.

The Girls’ Rugby Sevens category saw St. Joseph’s clinch the champions title. St. Joseph’s faced stiff competition from fellow Kenyan side Kinale and Uganda’s Nkoma and Jinja SS. Kinale’s second-place finish highlighted Kenya’s strength in the girls’ division, while St. Theresa and Nyagichenche also made significant contributions to Kenya’s overall dominance in the category. Uganda’s teams, including Kijjabwemi and PMM, put up a valiant effort.
