The Kenya Rugby Union is set to conduct a super week in Kakamega from the 14th to the 17th of May at the Western Bulls Club House. Four courses that will be conducted during this week are Level 1 Coaching 7s, Level 1 Introduction to Coaching Children, Level 1 First Aid In Rugby and Level 1 Strength and Conditioning.
The Kabras Sugar RFC Head Coach Henley Du Plesis will take charge of the Coaching 7s course, Johnbosco Muamba the Rugby Africa Regional Development Coordinator will take the participants through the Level 1 Introduction to Coaching children.
The Kenya Lionesses physiotherapist, Ben Mahinda is an accredited Medical Educator and will lead the participants through the First Aid In Rugby Course while the Strength and Conditioning Course shall be headed by Richard Ochieng and Malik Ndemi.
The super week will see Kakamega host the first ever Level 1 S&C, Level 1 FAIR and Level 1 Coaching Children Courses. A big number of rugby players come from the Western region and it is imperative that the Union ensures the Coaching units in the area are constantly improving through these courses.
