June 8th, 2024 marked an electrifying weekend for rugby enthusiasts as the Enterprise Cup reached its thrilling conclusion at the RFUEA Grounds on Ngong Road. The atmosphere was charged with anticipation as fans gathered to witness a day brimming with high-stakes rugby.
The day commenced with the KRU Nationwide finals, featuring a clash between Zetech Oaks and the Technical University of Mombasa Marines. The Oaks, displaying remarkable prowess and coordination, dominated the match from the outset. Their relentless offensive tactics overwhelmed the Marines, culminating in a resounding 31-13 victory for Zetech Oaks.
As the clock ticked towards 4:00 PM, the main event loomed large: the Enterprise Cup finals, pitting KCB against the defending champions, Kabras Sugar. The tension was palpable as the teams took their positions, ready to battle for supremacy.
Kabras Sugar struck first, igniting the scoreboard with a converted try that propelled them ahead by seven points. KCB, undeterred, swiftly countered with a penalty kick from Elvis Namusasi, narrowing the gap to 3-7. The intensity of the match was palpable as Ntabeni Dukisa of Kabras split the sticks with a successful penalty kick, extending their lead to 10-3.
As the first half progressed, KCB’s Namusasi demonstrated his precision once more with another penalty, inching KCB closer at 6-10. However, Dukisa responded in kind, adding another penalty to Kabras’ tally, leaving the scores at 13-6 in favor of Kabras as the halftime whistle blew.
