Pre-season rugby continued over the weekend with semifinal in the Impala Floodlits and Victoria 15s tournaments respectively.
IMPALA FLOODLIT
Defending champions KCB reached the Floodlit final with a 14-3 win over Blak Blad at the Impala Club, their points coming from Peter Waiter end Brian Wahinya’s tries with Isaac Njoroge converting both while Lionel Ajeliti scored Blad’s sole points from the kick tee.
The earlier semifinal fixture saw Nondescripts defeat Menengai Oilers 16-11 to reach the final.
USIU Martials edged Catholic Monks 32-31 to set up a date against Nakuru Combined Universities in the Varsity semifinal. Nakuru Combined Universities were 12-7 winners over Daystar Falcons.
Northern Suburbs defeated Hidden Talent 20-5 while Impala were 57-5 winners over Maseno University in the women’s competition.
VICTORIA 15s
Kabras Sugar and Masinde Muliro will meet in the final of the Victoria 15s after sailing through their semifinal fixtures at the Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium in Kisumu on Saturday.
Kabras edged hosts Kisumu 14-10 with Valerian Tendwa scoring and converting his two tries while Kisumu got their points on the board through Israel Makokha’s try that was converted by Washington Ochieng who also added a penalty.
Masinde Muliro were 29-10 winners over Western Bulls in the opening semifinal.
Both finals will be played on 12 November.
