Morocco started the competition with a 23-23 draw away to Zimbabwe while their fortunes on the continental and global scene have dwindled over the years, they will be out to preserve their unbeaten home record against the Kenyans, having won 29-3 on 7th May 2005 and 29-11 on 11th July 2009 while the Simbas will be out to mark the 11th anniversary of their sole win over their host by winning in Casablanca and getting their campaign and Rugby World Cup qualification hope off to a flying start.
