The Kenya Rugby Union will on Saturday 4th August hold a consultative meeting with its Affiliates at the KRU Grounds. This meeting intends on dealing with the complaints that have been issued by clubs in the previous seasons in terms of the interpretation of the regulations.
In the agenda for the day, five regulations that are vital to the Union at the moment are what will be discussed and the agreed upon outcome is what will be initiated before the fifteen-a-side season kicks off. Draft regulations have been circulated to the affiliates for their comments and suggestions in preparation for this meeting.
Speaking to the secretary General, Oduor Gangla, he had this to say; ”The meeting on Saturday is set to take affiliates through some of the proposals the Board intends on implementing, for their input, so that the management of the Club games can run smoothly. In the initial phase, we focused on the areas that had most of the issues. They are: Adult competition, player registration and transfers, the disciplinary process, the season and the League Manuals. The tournament Manuals have been re-written and we need the affiliates to go through them keenly. We are targeting by the time the sevens season ends, all the regulations are amended all regulations so the transfer window can open.
Post this meeting, we will work on a final draft which hopefully the board will approve in its next meeting.”
The meeting will kick off at 10:00AM and all affiliates are urged to be in attendance.
