Kenya are out of cup contention at the Dubai 7s after a 19-5 quarterfinal defeat to Fiji at The Sevens in Dubai, UAE on Saturday 27 November 2021.
Shujaa had Fiji on the backfoot with their incessant pressure, Herman Humwa barging over the chalk for the game’s opening score.
Fiji forced a turn over, Joseva Talacolo spotting a hint of a gap and outsprinting Johnstone Olindi to score with Waisea Nacuqu converting before punishing Shujaa from broken play, Nacuqu converting Filipe Sauturaga’s try for a 14-5 half time score.
It remained a close battle in the second half, both sides throwing everything. An unforced error saw Shujaa lose momentum, Panapasa Qeruqeru scoring Fiji’s third and final try.
Up next for Shujaa is a clash against Great Britain in the fifth place semi final at 12.51pm.
