The Kenya U20 team that will face Namibia on Saturday 20th April 2024 in Harare, Zimbabwe has been named by Coach Simon Jawichre. The team landed in Harare on Thursday, had their Captain’s run on Friday afternoon and are scheduled to kick off the 2024 Barthes U20 Trophy tournament on Saturday at 3:00pm EAT.
Darrel Oluoch, Bramwel Anekea and Geylord Ngasi form the starting front row with Eugene Etale and Andycole Omolo pairing as the locks. Captain – Edmond Omondi, Nathan Tsindoli and Iddo Kuta will be the loose forwards on duty when the match kicks off.
Scrumhalf Patrick Wainaina and flyhalf Jackson Siketi will be on starting duty linking the forwards to the backs. The back three line up sees Alvin Khavoli start at the left wing, James Olela on the right wing with Eugene Ojiambo handling matters at the fullback position. The center pairing will have Michael Wamalwa as the inside center with Daniel Kipchirchir serving as the outside center.
In the reserves we have Brian Shile, Ian Nyandusi and Hafidh Mohammed as the front row, they’ll be joined by Clein Okumbi, Willy Tino, Benadict Muiruri, Faran Juma and Philip Okeyo.
From this line up, eight of the nine Chipu players from last year have been lined up to face Namibia in this first match of the 2024 Barthes U20 Trophy. The match will be officiated by Stephan Geldenhuys with Precious Pazani serving as AR1 and Ronald Wutimber as AR2.
