Kenya Morans will kick off the 2019 Tusker Safari Sevens tournament on Saturday 19th October at the RFUEA Grounds against Uganda at 9:30am. The two are in Pool A of the tournament alongside World Series side South Africa and Burundi.
Defending Champions Samurai Rugby headline Pool B where they’ll face Western Province, Narvskaya Zastava and Red Wailers. Shujaa, Blue Bulls, Russia Academy and Zambia make up Pool C while Spain, Zimbabwe, Seventise and the 2019 Stanbic Bank National Sevens Circuit Champions KCB make up Pool D.
KRU Chairman gave the opening remarks as he thanked various media houses for their coverage of the Tusker Safari Sevens. “We appreciate Tusker Lager for their support towards rugby over the years and for always ensuring the fans have the best experience during tournaments. We also have several other partners who are working with us to ensure the tournament is a success,” said Oduor Gangla.

“Today’s announcement marks the official start of the tournament and as Tusker Lager, we want to urge Kenyans to come out in large numbers and support the Shujaa and Morans as they battle for the Robin Cahill trophy. We want to promise fans a great Tusker experience over the two days, with great music, food, fun activities and entertainment, details of which we will share within the week,” added Christine Mwaura, Tusker Marketing Manager.
The Tournament Director Godwin Karuga confirmed that there would be no road closure over the weekend and security is assured throughout the three days.
