Prescott Cup
The Nairobi School hosted the third Prescott Cup festival on the 1st of June 2019. Ofafa Jericho High School suffered
a 46 – 0 thrashing to Dagoretti High School. Just five minutes into the game Dagoretti managed to cross over the white wash through Erick Angaya but the conversion by Timothy Lugalia went out wide making it 5-0. An infringement by Ofafa Jericho saw Dagoretti awarded a penalty that resulted in fly half Timothy Lugalia taking in the 3 points. They landed a second try through Fred Sishe but the conversion sailed wide. Timothy Lugalia scored minutes before half time and his conversion went through the posts making it 20 -0 to Dagoretti at half time.
In the second half Charles Odhiambo went through Ofafa Jericho’s defense thrice and into the try box to landing his hat trick with only two conversions splitting the posts successfully. With a few seconds left on the clock before the match ended, speedy prop Aron Andati broke through Ofafa Jericho’s defense offloaded to winger Stanley Uta who landed the try. Timothy Lugalia was at it again as his conversion went in to end it at 46 -0.
Dagoretti High School skipper Benson Salem said that his side displayed good rugby in that they executed their game plays well and they are ready to face Nairobi School in their next fixture.

In the Damu Pevu tournament, Laiser Hill Academy dismantled Jamuhuri High 73 – 0. Laiser Hill ran in 12 tries 5 of which were successfully converted and a penalty by fly half Fredrick Odongo. In the first half Laiser Hill were able to cross over the white wash 6 times and only one conversion went in perfectly. A penalty was awarded to the Laiser Hill side moments before half time and they managed to bag in the three points to
make it 35 – 0 at halftime.
In the second half Skipper Kato Nicholas went over the white wash twice but only one was successfully
converted. Moments later Samuel Were also completed his brace after running through Jamhuri’s
defense line. In the last ten minutes, Clinton Kioko and Stephen Arunga landed in 10 more points for Laiser
Hill which were well converted by Fredrick Odongo.
Jamhuri High School skipper Samuel Kariuki believes that his side can still do much better given more games and and still hopes for the best in the coming school games.

The Damu Changa match between Ofafa Jericho II and Dagoretti II saw Ofafa narrowly beat Dagoretti High School 14 -13. A few moments into the game Antony Sewe bagged in 5 points for Ofafa Jericho with Rajab Ochieng adding the conversion. Just before halftime Dagoretti were awarded a penalty after an error by Ofafa and fly half Simon Kilonzi took in the three
points making it 7 – 3 at half time. In the second half, Dagoretti slotted in a comeback after forward Mike Lucas ran over Ofafa Jericho’s defense line and straight into the try box. Simon Kilonzi’s unsuccessful conversion saw Dagoretti
lead 8 -7. Dagoretti High School extended their lead through skipper Samson Muzembi and they were at 13 -7 after a failed conversion. A foul play by Dagoretti proved to be costly for as the referee awarded Ofafa Jericho a penalty try
bringing them back to the lead 14 -13. Scores remained the same to full time.
