Africa`s premier sevens tournament,Safari sevens returns this year marking the twenty sixth edition . This year marks a remarkable milestone as the tournament is set to be held outside Nairobi for the first time being held at the Machakos Kenyatta stadium.This move is aimed at giving fans,players and the entire rugby fraternity a new and wholesome experience.
This year`s category will feature ten teams in the men`s category and five teams in the women`s category.Headlining the men`s category is the Shujaa and the Kenya Morans.Shogun rugby formely known as Samurai have also confirmed attendance.The southern and east Africa regions are well represented by Zimbabwe and Uganda respectively.2024 overall seven`s circuit winners Kenya Harlequins shall also be participating alongside Kenya Varsity select.Qatar,Lions Rugby and the Red Wailers shall also be competing this year.
In the women`s category,the Kenya Lionesses alongside the Kenya Cubs shall be competing against Uganda,Shogun and Costa Blanca Barbarians.
