The 2024 Rift Valley Prescot tournament concluded in thrilling fashion on 22nd September at Menengai High School, with both the semi-finals and final taking place on the same day.
In the first semi-final, the hosts, Menengai High School, squared off against their close neighbors, Nakuru High School. It was an entertaining match, with Menengai dominating to secure a convincing 38-14 victory, earning them a spot in the final. The second semi-final was a nail-biter, as Kabianga High narrowly edged out St. Anthony’s Boys Kitale with a 16-15 win.
The third-place playoff saw another closely contested match, with St. Anthony’s Boys Kitale defeating Nakuru High School 14-12, finishing in third place overall, while Nakuru settled for fourth.
The day’s excitement culminated in the much-anticipated final between Menengai and Kabianga. Despite starting the tournament on a slow note, Kabianga displayed resilience and determination, staging a remarkable comeback to upset the favorites, Menengai, with a 13-0 victory. This triumph crowned Kabianga High School the 2024 Rift Valley Prescot champions.
