The inaugural leg of the 2024 Sportpesa Sevens concluded at the fifty-seventh edition of the Christie Sevens, with Kabras Sugar triumphantly crowned as the champions. The action on day two commenced with the Cup quarterfinals and the Challenger quarterfinals. The Catholic Monks displayed remarkable tenacity, narrowly defeating Nondescripts 33-12 and thereby securing a place in the Main Cup semifinals. Defending champions KCB were ousted from the semifinals by their long-standing adversaries, Kabras Sugar, after an intensely contested battle that ended 12-05. UOE Trojans beat Mwamba 24-12 to win the thirteenth place finals.Daystar also emerged victorious in the challenge finals beating Blak Blad.KCB completed the tournament at fifth place after beating Oilers 27-12.Catholic Monks clinched the Bronze after beating Strathmore Leos 10-5.Impala ladies put up an impressive perfomance to beat Mwamba 22-10 defending their christie sevens title.
In the main cup finals,Kabras sugar began with the first try of the game before quickly adding a converted try which put them ahead by 12 points.Amon Wamalwa came through for Kenya Harlequins equalising the scores with a brace heading into half time.The second half was a tight race but Kabras emerged victorious with a 17-12 win over hosts Kenya Harlequins.
