The 15th edition of the Prinsloo7s kicked off on Friday 4th August with age grade competitions and women’s rugby at the Nakuru Athletic Club.
In the women’s category, a total of six teams that took part in the competition were divided into two pools; Pool A had Mwamba RFC, Moi University, and Western Spear while Pool B comprised Yamanashi Impala, hosts Nakuru RFC and NYS Spades.
Mwamba and Moi University kicked off the ladies’ action in the afternoon with Mwamba running away with a convincing 52-0 victory over the Eldoret-based side. The scores were replicated in the second match when Yamanashi Impala faced NYS Spades in the Pool B match.
The second round of matches saw Moi University beat Western Spears 27-0 while Nakuru RFC beat NYS Spades 43-0. Mwamba RFC’s 57-00 win over Western Spears secured their top of the pool finish while Yamanashi Impala’s 24-7 victory over Nakuru in the the ever-vibrant match guaranteed their top of Pool A finish.
The semifinal pairings see Mwamba RFC take on Nakuru RFC while Yamanashi Impala will meet Moi University.
