The Kenya Rugby Union and Rugby Africa hosted a Training and Education Super Week on the sidelines of the U20 Barthes Trophy between 20th and 30th April in Nairobi, Kenya.
The Super Week witnessed a few ground breaking moments as a World Rugby Trainer Course and a Level 3 Three Officiating Course were held in Kenya for the first time.
Four Kenyans – Paul Odera, Peris Mukoko –Wanyaga, George Ndemi and Godwin Karuga were licensed as Trainers, joining John Bosco Muamba, Michael “Tank” Otieno and Fred Ollows as the seven World Rugby Trainers in Kenya.
Kenyan match official Duncan Kioko was among the six participants who attended the World Rugby Level 3 officiating course.
Educator Courses for Medical as well as Level One coaching and officiating courses were also held during the T&E Super Week.
