Shujaa began their Pool C campaign at the Cape Town 7s with a 5-19 defeat to Argentina at the Cape Town Stadium on Friday 9 December 2022.
The Argentines raced into a 12-0 lead at the break through Agustin Fraga’s brace in the third and fifth minutes with Tobias Wade managing a conversion.
Denis Abukuse responded with a try for Shujaa late in the second half before the Argentines killed hopes of a Kenyan comeback with a converted try from Juan Manuel Molinuevo at the death.
The team continues with their pool encounters on Saturday morning, facing New Zealand at 10.07am and Spain at 3.26pm.
