Shujaa are through to the 9th place semifinal in Dubai after defeating Canada 17-7 on Saturday morning.
Herman Humwa and Canada’s Josiah Morra traded tries with Canada’s Brock Webster converting to give the North Americans a 7-5 lead at the interval.
Kevin Wekesa then gave Shujaa the go ahead try before Billy Odhiambo put the result beyond doubt with a try two minutes from full time.
Up next for Shujaa is a clash against Fiji at 12.16pm EAT.
The team had earlier drawn 14-14 with Great Britain.
Nelson Oyoo and Odhiambo landed tries with Tony Omondi converting both.
The Britons replied with a brace from Max Farland with Robbie Fergusson converting both.
