Kenyan coaches Gibson Weru and Alex Agalo have embarked on the journey to attain World Rugby Level 3 coaching certification.
The duo were recently in South Africa, having been nominated by the Kenya Rugby Union to attend a Level 3 course at the Newlands Stadium in Cape Town, South Africa.
Commenting on their nomination, KRU Training and Edcuation Coordinator George Ndemi said, “We nominated the duo due to their dedication and passion towards the game of rugby. They are both Level 2 coaches but Agalo has also become a Coaching Educator.”
Weru, a former Kenya Sevens international and the current Menengai Oilers Head Coach said, “”Very intense, very informative and insightful. Its putting everything we do in an organized manner, analyzing and reworking. I’m looking forward to get down with it. I’m excited.”
Agalo on his part said, “Looking at how the course evolved, I have learnt a lot by following the structures we built with the help of the trainers. The course has helped in my organization and planning techniques by exposing my strengths and my short falls in a systematic way. It is now clear and more precise on what to address in a team. Focus turns on the practical application through coaching. It is indeed a wonderful journey in the game of rugby.’
