Hosts and defending champions Mwamba reached the cup quarterfinal at the Kabeberi 7s after finishing second at the close of Pool B action on Saturday 21v May 2022 at the RFUEA Ground.
Mwamba started with a 32-0 win over Mean Machine, drew 19-19 with pool winners Strathmore Leos before edging Nondescripts 10-7 in their final pool encounter. Strathmore defeat Nondescripts 19-10 before beating Machine 36-5.

National Sevens Circuit defending champions KCB were in imperious form, finishing top of Pool A with three wins. They began with a 31-14 victory over Western Bulls before stopping Kabras Sugar 22-5. They would then defeat Masinde Muliro 38-7. Masinde Muliro finished second in the pool to reach the last eight.

Also making it to the quarterfinals were Topfry Nakuru, Menengai Oilers, Homeboyz and surprise package Daystar Falcons who stunned Impala Saracens in pool play.
