The Kenya Rugby Union hereby confirms that the Kenya Cup playoff teams will receive prize money at the end of the season courtesy of the Kenya Breweries through their Tusker Brand.
On Wednesday 27th March, Tusker announced a sponsorship worth 10 Million Shillings with a cash element of KES 3.5 Million to Kenya Rugby Union while Sh 6.5 Million goes into the fan experience, vendor support and the build up for the Kenya Cup semi-finals in Kakamega and Nairobi, as well as the Kenya Cup final.
The 3.5 Million will be used as follows:
- Prize tokens for each team in the playoffs.
- Financial support for host clubs to facilitate event organization.
Tusker will facilitate the below
- Amplification and promotion of the matches through various media platforms.
- Provision of high-quality match and administrative officials.
- Live streaming of the matches online, with potential terrestrial broadcast coverage.
KBL will also enhance the match day experience for fans through on-ground activations and immersive engagements, reinforcing Tusker’s legacy in supporting Kenyan sports.

Prize money has been allocated as below:
Kenya Cup Winner: 300,000/-
Kenya Cup runners up: 200,000/-
Kenya Cup second runners up: 100,000/-
Positions 4, 5, 6 will also receive 75,000/-, 50,000/- and 50,000/- respectively.
The Kenya Cup semis in Kakamega pitting Kabras Sugar RFC versus Nondescript RFC will kick off at 1:00pm while the KCB RC versus Menengai Oilers will kick off at 4:00pm at the KCB Sports Club in Ruaraka. Both matches will be broadcasted live on the Kenya Rugby Union YouTube Channel.
