Kitale edged Swara 12-8 to reach the Nationwide national final and qualification to next season’s second tier KRU Championship.
They led 5-3 at the break and will now face Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology who beat Eldoret 30-5 in the other semifinal in Kakamega.
Kitale opened the firing salvo when former Mwamba wing Jeremy Chimwani went over the whitewash ten minutes into the match to go 5-0 up before Tony Omondi drilled home a penalty to see Swara trail by two points at the interval.
Omondi’s try after the restart saw Swara go 8-5 up but Chimwani’s conversion from Shadrack Chumba’s try eight minutes from full time sealed the result for Kitale.
