Shujaa reached the Challenge Trophy semis at the Hong Kong Sevens with a 24-17 quarter final win over Japan at the Hong Kong Stadium on Sunday morning.
Sammy Oliech converted Augustine Lugonzo's try for a 7-0 lead before Kaemeli Soejima's converted try drew Japan level.
Rikiya Oishi touched down to give Japan the 12-7 lead at the break.
Bush Mwale,on as a second half replacement,created space and scored under the posts,Oliech converting for a 14-12 score. Oliech would soon get on the board but Dai Ozawa responded in similar fashion, the match finely poised at 19-17.
Frank Wanyama went over for his third try of the weekend, sealing the result for Shujaa who face Russia in the semis at 9.22am EAT
